Riding Horses for Sale
Stevie Blues
Do you own a Stevie? If not, you should!
Everybody loves a Stevie and here is your chance to get a NCHA Money Earner of your own! Don’t miss out on this truly One-of-a-Kind gelding.
Stevie Blues aka Billy Rey is a stunning 2021 red roan gelding that stands just under 15hh. If you’re in search of an outstanding cutting horse that will put checks in your pocket, take a look at Stevie Blues. This stand-out gelding will win at the cutting, take you down the trail, handle your ranch work or just brighten your day. Billy Rey is a joy to be around on the ground as well as in the saddle. He stays broke day after day, whether you ride every day or once a week. He is very easy to haul and show, good enough for the open, but gentle enough for a non-pro or amateur.
Billy Rey’s looks will definitely turn heads and get your attention. His personality will win your heart.
Billy Rey may only be a 4-year-old but he has been in good hands his whole life. His training started with Morgan Cromer, one of the best! With 2 years of professional cutting training, he has an exceptional handle. He stays light in the bridle and moves off your leg easily. He has a lot of cow and stays hooked. He is quick-footed, but a very smooth mover, that just takes you with him.
Billy Rey’s athletic ability, trainability and disposition are not accidental. One look at his pedigree and you’ll know why! His sire is the ONE and ONLY Stevie Rey Von-with LTE $420,903 and PE $20,548,373. He is the only living stallion in NCHA Open Futurity history to be an NCHA Open Futurity Champion, sired by an NCHA Open Futurity Champion and to have sired an NCHA Open Futurity Champion.
His dam is This Kittys Smart-LTE $113,855, producer of money earners and an own daughter of WR This Cats Smart-LTE $263,514 and PE over $20 million.
Billy Rey is currently in cutting training and being hauled and shown in the open. I believe he would also be successful in the non-pro or amateur. I don’t feel like he needs to be in a professional cutting program, but we would be happy to keep him in our program and help the new owner achieve success in the show pen.
Billy Rey is 100% sound with no maintenance and x-rays available upon request. If you have any questions or would like to come meet and ride Billy Rey, please contact Terry (563)543-2248 or Kate (563)212-4686 with Tietjen Performance Horses.

If you’re looking for a great all-around gelding the whole family can enjoy, take a look at Skipper!
Skipper is a 6 year old, grade, Buckskin Roan Gelding that stands 14hh. He is tall enough and stoutly built so an adult can ride him all day with ease. Yet he is short enough and so gentle that he won’t be intimidating to your child.
He will get your attention with his stunning good looks. Then he will steal your heart with his sweet, lovable personality.
Skipper has been in good hands since the start and has never learned any bad habits or vices. If you need a nice reliable ranch partner, Skipper won’t let you down. Even things such as bridges, a teeter totter, tarps, big bouncing balls and the bull whip are not a problem. You don’t have to worry if your trail takes you into town or areas with traffic. They aren’t an issue for Skipper either. From bicycles, ATVs, farm machinery, cars, and trucks, he handles them all with ease. He loads in a stock or slant trailer and stands wherever you put him. If you’re camping and need to highline, Skipper is fine with that too.
